The University of Iowa Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Fall 2018 positions.
Job Description: Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The internship may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports (does not include football), attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development throughout internship program. Opportunities to work with many performance monitoring technologies including but not limited to: Force Plates, GPS, Omegawave, Tensiomyography and GymAware. CSCCA mentorship is available to assist your eligibility for the certification.
Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in exercise science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW.
Compensation: This is an unpaid position. Class credit toward graduation requirements from your current institution, athletic apparel when available, the opportunity to learn from five experienced strength and conditioning coaches, the potential to earn future recommendations and lay the foundation for a future career.
